About

Welcome and thank you for your visit! ¡Bienvenidos! We’d like to give you an idea of how our team views psychotherapy and provide some examples of some themes that we work on. También, ofrecemos todos nuestros servicios en español. Psychotherapy is different for each person – people are complex and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Together, we will define what healthy psychological well-being looks like for you and use an integrative approach to facilitate healing and reach your goals. Healthy psychological well-being is not just the decrease of symptoms or an absence of a diagnosis, but accessing deeper parts of yourself, your inner strength, resources, and resilience in the face of uncertainty, adversity, and burden. One unique approach we take is to teach learning skills as a path to empowerment. Through our work together, we hope to leave you with a personalized skills toolkit, in addition to a greater sense of confidence, clarity, and agency in your daily life. The following is a list of some common treatment themes discussed and skills we teach at Whole Person: - Improve health and foster resilience when faced with burden and adversity. - Gain insight into the conscious and subconscious forces that influence your decision making process. - Set healthy boundaries, communicate assertively, and build intimacy in your relationships. - Improve the quality of your sleep. - Access deeper parts of yourself without distress or struggle. - Shadow work to heal childhood trauma. - Process grief and loss. - Reclaim personal power and sense of control. - Induce relaxation response through breathing and mindfulness-based techniques. - Understand how the California Workers Compensation system oppresses, and enact the roadmap out. - Learn the mindset principles needed for rehabilitation and management of chronic pain and illness. - Instill realistic hope and obtain accurate information about the reversibility of some chronic illnesses. - Work towards a place of peace and acceptance when given a terminal diagnosis. - Recognize and unroot internalized beliefs imposed by systems power, including family systems. - Reclaim your empowering narrative, breaking free from the one imposed on you. - Compartmentalize and deflect toxicity when you cannot leave the toxic workplace or oppressive system. - Reinvent yourself and find employment when injury prevents you from continuing with same career. - Realign with a life path that is purposeful and specific to you and your unique talents. - Reclaim control and agency over your health outcomes. - Reconnect with self, others, and community while gaining insight into feelings of emptiness and loneliness. - Reconnect with God and/or your spiritual belief system, especially in the face of life events that test your faith. - Transmute the uniquely difficult emotions that result from suffering human rights and power abuses.
